CASE STUDY
AUTOBODY MENTOR
The Project
Andy Trumper was preparing to launch Auto Body Mentor, a new business focused on mentoring, consulting, workshop training, and repair certification within New Zealand's collision repair industry.
The new website needed to establish credibility from the outset, introducing Andy, showcasing his experience, and helping visitors quickly understand the range of services he provides. To do that, he needed more than just a profile photo. He needed a collection of authentic images that showed him doing what he does every day.
The Brief
The goal was to create a versatile library of images that could be used throughout Andy's new website.
This included professional profile photos, natural images of Andy working alongside clients, carrying out inspections, using technology, and interacting within real workshop environments.
The images also needed to fit the website itself. Before the shoot, we reviewed the draft website together to understand where images would sit, how much space was available, and what each section needed to communicate. That planning helped ensure every photograph had a purpose.
The Approach
Rather than relying on a single location, we worked together to build a plan that showcased the different aspects of Andy's work.
After discussing the overall vision, Andy organised access to three different workshops, including a collision repair workshop, a restoration workshop, and a motorcycle repair facility. This gave us the opportunity to capture a broader range of imagery that better represented his business and the industries he supports.
Throughout the shoot, I provided direction and guidance to help Andy feel comfortable in front of the camera, while keeping the images natural and genuine. The focus wasn't on creating posed marketing photos, but on documenting him working with clients in authentic environments.
The Result
The final image library gave Andy everything he needed to launch his new website with confidence.
From strong profile images through to environmental portraits and genuine working moments, the photographs tell the story of who Andy is, how he works, and the expertise he brings to the collision repair industry.
By planning the shoot around the website before a camera was even picked up, every image had a clear purpose, making the final website feel cohesive, professional, and built specifically around his business rather than simply filled with photographs.
"We engaged Brendan for photography for our website for Crema Cafe and he was awesome to work with. He made the whole process easy, understood exactly what we were after and delivered photos that turned out amazing. We couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend him."
